BAM starts with a bike!

BAM starts with a bike!

WARNING- There are ALOT of pics in this post! Get ready!!

So this week Mike and I went on our 1st BAM adventure! We decided to take the day and go up and explore Geneva, IL. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. We had the most magical, beautiful day! The sun was shining and the people were beaming with happiness. It felt like we stepped into an old, little village straight out of a movie. The town had such character and charm and almost all the shops had these cool artsy bikes on display. These weren't your typical, run of the mill bikes; each bike had flare and pizazz!  We found A LOT, so scroll right through some of my favs below!!

Next, we decided to enter the world of Cajun food and visited The Patten House. This place had so much history!! It was an old mansion converted into a restaurant. I can't put into words how amazing the decor was, each room was different, each table was different, there were couches, big chairs, small chairs, tables for two and tables for eight.  Good food, and definitely on the pricier side, but worth the experience. The star of my meal was the Avocado Mashed Potatoes. YES, YOU HEARD ME... AVOCADO MASHED POTATOES!!  Two of my favorite things, and put together? Seriously, so good. I am going to try and make them so stay tuned for that post!  In the meantime, enjoy the food pics below...

After that VERY big lunch we headed out to do some shopping, my other fav, hehe. The shops were beyond cute, filled with vintage treasures, antiques, and a little touch of new! We even stumbled upon a designer thrift store that had the most amazing, vintage Louis V trunk! It was love at first sight, but unfortunately it was already sold. Needless to say I gave the lady my number to keep me posted on her newest, vintage, designer finds!!  I'll share any news, of course ;)

We explored the rest of the town and found another cute shop called "The Little Traveler, Around The World in 30 Rooms". This was also an old converted house, built in 1862, that had everything from food, to candy to jewelry to things you didn't know you needed, complete with a room dedicated to dogs! Definitely a cool place to check out.  Here are more pics to entice the adventurer in you...

Last, but not least, I dedicate the last post to the dessert part of our day. My intuition and love for chocolate led us to a place called "All Chocolate Kitchen". this was hands down, the best part of our day. Not only did we enter the world of Willy Wonka, but the variety was a dream come true. EVERYTHING was made out of chocolate. The chef is crazy talented and they hold TWO Guinness world records, how cool is that? The chef has also been all over food network and even made Jenny McCarthy's wedding cake! I mean the decorations were spectacular and the chocolates were DELICIOUS. They were hand painted to perfection. The truffles were beyond amazing!  And The staff were just as sweet as the chocolates. Side note, as you scroll through these pics the tree is made entirely of chocolate! crazy right? and the "table" part of the tree is made out of sugar! so amazing.

“Fall in love with moments”

Hope these pics bring to life the magical town of Geneva!

XoXo,

Lex
