Color me bright!
Spring is approaching, praise Jesus, and the trends are all about bright colors. Mixing them, color blocking them, loud patterns, the works. I’ve always been a person that enjoys a good pop of color but now that it is fully on trend I am embracing it all over. The 90s are still such a huge fashion vibe right now but we’ve started to progress into the early 2000s. I’m obsessed with both and will forever be rocking my 90s/00s looks.
For some, color can be overwhelming and scary but I promise you that it’s not as hard as it seems. The rule I follow? What am I initially drawn to and what about it do I like? Once I find one piece I create the outfit in my head. For example this lime green skirt. This skirt is olddddd, like childhood old. It was tucked away in a box but somehow always stayed in my memory. Fun fact I have this weird sixth sense that I remember ALL of my clothes, which makes it painful to get rid of stuff. Anyways this skirt was gone but not forgotten. It’s not something that I would typically pick but you never know. Fast forward to last year when tennis skirts were all the rage. I was searching through old stuff to find one when I stumbled upon the green skirt. I pulled it out and thought, hmm I could wear this again. It sat in my room for a few months as bright colors were rearing their head. I packed the skirt when I went to Florida and figured I’d find something to wear with it. When I went to shoot this beautiful, blue, tie dye, zip up for Charisma Clothing I thought the skirt would make an unexpected pairing. I was right. I love how this look turned out. The bright colors complimented each other and it was bold and edgy. Was this something that would typically “match”? No, but that’s the fun of it all, bright colors don’t need to “match”. They are expressive and joyful. So don’t be scared, you really can’t go wrong with this trend.
